He subsequently met with SBE representatives at the spring NAB Show and attended the SBE\u00a0National Meeting in New York state last month.<\/p><figure id=\"attachment_117532\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-117532\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-117532\" src=\"https:\/\/www.radioworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Robakidze_Davit-353x336.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.radioworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Robakidze_Davit-353x336.jpg 353w, https:\/\/www.radioworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Robakidze_Davit-726x692.jpg 726w, https:\/\/www.radioworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Robakidze_Davit-768x732.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.radioworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Robakidze_Davit.jpg 1250w\" alt=\"headshot of Davit Robakidze\" width=\"259\" height=\"247\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-117532\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u10d3\u10d0\u10d5\u10d8\u10d7 \u10e0\u10dd\u10d1\u10d0\u10e5\u10d8\u10eb\u10d4<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>The new group becomes Chapter 148 Eastern Europe. It has incorporated in Georgia as the Incorporation of Eastern Europe Broadcast Engineers, or IEEBE, and has held organizational meetings.<\/p><p>It also named its officers: Davit Robakidze as chair, Zurab Gegenava as vice chair and Nino Koberidze as secretary\/treasurer. The chapter plans a conference in December in Tbilisi.<\/p><p>\u201cThe group is applying for a grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development for the purpose of establishing a broadcast engineering training program with the Georgian Technical University,\u201d SBE said in its announcement. \u201cAs the group grows, it hopes to include engineers from other neighboring Eastern European countries.\u201d<\/p><p>Most SBE chapters are in the United States, but Chapter 144 is in Hong Kong and has a student chapter associated with it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First efforts will focus on Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Moldova The Society of Broadcast Engineers has given its blessing to a new chapter that will serve engineers in eastern Europe.
