Qualifications

Mentee Qualifications:
  • Current IEEBE member.
  • Ideal candidates are recent graduates, early-career professionals, or individuals transitioning into the broadcast engineering field.
  • Desire to grow and excel in your career.
  • Positive attitude toward the profession and learning.
  • Open to constructive feedback.
  • Mentees must uphold IEEBE’s standards of conduct and agree to maintain confidentiality for any professional information shared within the mentorship relationship.
Mentor Qualifications:
  • Current IEEBE member; values the organization, its mission and its work.
  • Currently in the profession of broadcast engineering.
  • Minimum of five years working in the profession.
  • Ability to commit to calls every other week with your mentee for one year.
  • Desire to help others grow and excel in their careers.
  • Positive attitude toward the profession and learning.

F.A.Q

No. The SBE will work hard to match mentors and mentees based on location, but that is not a requirement.

The partnership from the SBE Mentor Program will run for one year. Of course, you can always continue to meet after the year is up.

The Mentor and Mentee can work together to set up a schedule that works best for them. The SBE asks that you meet by phone at least once every two weeks.
